The Opening Ceremony of the Fourth English Training Course for Teachers and Students Was Successfully Held

On the afternoon of October 19, 2022, the teacher-student English club (the fourth phase) opening ceremony was successfully held by SoLA. The ceremony was grand and joyful, and every attendant enjoyed it. In this golden osmanthus scented October, a wonderful learning journey of SCC started here. Here, teachers and students will learn foreign languages, broaden their horizons and improve the quality of being a global citizen. Ms. Karen Zhang, Dean of SoLA, Ms. Lin Ma, Vice Dean of SoLA, Mr. Yongtai Li, Vice Dean and Secretary of SoLA, and teachers and students of the English Club attended the ceremony. The whole activity was led by Ke Sun, the director and teacher of the English club.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Ms. Ke Sun and Ms. Maoyue Lin, the speakers of the English Club , sent a warm welcome to the new members, introduced in detail the features, organization methods and activities of the Club, and expressed their sincere wishes to the members, hoping that they could feel the charm of English within the happy atmosphere of the club.

Then Ms. Karen Zhang, the Dean of SoLA, delivered a speech to the club. Her brilliant and sincere bilingual speech moved everyone on the scene. She said that thanks to the strong support of the leaders and all the teachers and students of the club, the English club could be successfully carried out. She hoped that all the teachers and students in the club could feel different cultures in the club and improve their English skills.

Professor Chaoping Luo from the Institute of Technology delivered a speech on behalf of teachers as a mysterious guest. As a practitioner of the concept of lifelong learning, Professor Luo humbly said that he still lacked in English practising, but he would try his best to complete all the contents of this training, hoping to learn and make progress with others in this club. Professor Luo's modest and sincere speech undoubtedly encouraged all the students present.

As the student representative of this time, Huiyun Han, from 22 Big Data major, said that he was very excited to have the opportunity to participate in this ceremony and liked the atmosphere of this team. At the same time, he hoped that he can learn and practice the concept of lifelong learning together with all members. He will try his best to constantly enhance the friendship between teachers and students.

In order to further enhance the mutual understanding between teachers and students, Ke Sun and Maoyue Lin first introduced themselves to everyone. Next, inspired by the two lovely teachers, everyone was eager to try. The microphone was passed among each club member. In each club member's speech, different regional and cultural backgrounds collided with each other, creating brilliant sparks of learning.

Among bursts of laughter, Instructor Maoyue Lin pushed the atmosphere of the ceremony to the climax. She invited all members to stand up and play interactive game. In the English game, we can practice our reaction speed and feel the beauty of language and culture.

So far, the opening ceremony has come to a successful conclusion. We believe that the success will greatly encourage each member to make progress in their English learning.
